City still waiting for free wireless broadband
December 2007 is all but gone but trials for free wireless broadband in Parramatta, Penrith, Liverpool, Gosford, Newcastle, Wollongong, North Sydney and the Sydney CBD are yet to be conducted, as promised by the NSW government a year ago. The plan was to deliver speeds of five megabits per second for free to these areas. A spokesperson for the NSW Department of Commerce said no decision had been reached and no company had been appointed to deliver the project.
