Westmead. Isolation of cancer-linked protein

Researchers at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and in France have shown one particular cancer gene is connected to reduced chances of surviving cancer. They say the tumour protein known as D52, may contribute to breast cancer tumours, which are faster growing and spread more quickly. Scientist, Jennifer Byrne, at the hospital told the ABC they would now concentrate on other cancers, and on developing a drug to slow, or stop it.
