Parramatta. Council forgoes $5 million
Parramatta City Council will lose $5 million annually through the introduction of new operating procedures giving council officers more discretion when issuing tickets. Council is considering implementing a three-person appeal panel to give drivers a chance to challenge fines prior to them going to the State Debt Recovery Office. "The system needed an overhaul," Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, said.
