Region. Signing pays off in publicity

The signing of the Brisbane Bronco’s Isreal Folau by Greater Western Sydney and the AFL, on a package believed to be worth about $3.6 million, has paid off in much sought after publicty for the Western Sydney team, according to AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou. He said Folau had generated more than $9 million worth of publicity for the game since his decision to cross codes from rugby league, announced last month. The figure come from an independent media review. The GWS team is expected to enter the AFL competition in 2012.
