Eastern Creek. $80m injection into economy
The establishment of a regional distribution park, by Afteron Pty Ltd, within the Western Sydney Employment Area will provide significant economic benefits to the region by injecting $60 million into the local economy, according to the Department of Planning. The development of the Minchinbury Employment Park (MEP), near the junction of the M4 and M7 motorways, will also deliver around 300 ongoing jobs, once fully operational. The Minister for Planning, Tony Kelly, said the concept plan approval for the proposal would see the development of the Eastern Creek Quarantine Station, which forms part of the former Wallgrove Army Camp. The Minister for Western Sydney, David Borger, said the site itself is also located within the Western
Sydney Employment Area and is therefore consistent with the Government’s broader strategic planning objectives for the area.
