Region. Unis over-enroll students

Macquarie University (and Newcastle University) topped a survey of 30 universities which over-enrolled students in 2010, with a figure of 19 per cent. The University of Western Sydney was ranked sixth with 17 per cent, in the survey conducted by The Australian Financial Review. The paper said universities have significantly lifted student numbers as they compete to meet tough new federal government targets for stronger participation in higher education.
