Parramatta. CCTV to assist in crime prevention

Parramatta City Council proposes to install a public safety wireless CCTV network in the Church Street dining area to assist in crime prevention and the detection of offenders. It is among a series of measures to be discussed at a public forum. Council said anecdotal information suggested that anti-social behaviour was impacting on local residents, businesses and workers, and perceptions of anti-social behaviour may be hindering council’s initiatives to attract residents, businesses, workers and investment in the city.
