Region. No funds for infrastructure
Councils on Sydney fringes say they are not releasing land for disparately needed housing because they don’t have the money for crucial infrastructure. They blame the former NSW Labor government for capping the amount they can charge developers to provide facilities and services at $30,000 per new housing lot and for failing to provide alternative funding arrangements, according to The Australian Financial Review.
