Penrith. Inaugural rowing event
The inaugural Sydney International Rowing Regatta, from 18-24 March 2013, will be held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, at Penrith Lakes, to coincide with the prestigious Samsung World Rowing Cup. The event will also include the Kings and Queen’s Cup Regatta, Australian Open Rowing Championships and Australian Schools Rowing Championships. The Samsung World Rowing Cup will bring some 800 athletes, officials and media from across the world, each staying for up to 21 days In addition there will be 2000 athletes coming from around Australia to compete throughout the week Premier Barry O’Farrell said the event would generate up to $7 million in new money for the local economy and attract the best rowing talent from across Australia and the world.
