Rooty Hill. OneSteel stops production

OneSteel has stopped production at its Sydney Steel Mill, at Rooty Hill, and at the Whyalla blast furnace as much as possible and will cut output from its Laverton mill in Victoria, after the demand for steel fell by 24 per cent in December. OneSteel confirmed the move would result in contractor and casual job losses, but did not provide a figure according to The Australian Financial Review
