Parramatta. Cinema to stay Liquid
Parramatta City Council’s free Liquid Cinema will become a regular feature on the Parramatta River foreshores to boost the buzz of the CBD at night and the business of restaurants in nearby Church Street. Following its successful trial run in March, Liquid Cinema will now become a regular fixture and be included in Parramatta City’s 2011/12 events calendar. “The trial run was a huge success, drawing in hundreds of people each Saturday night in March,” Lord Mayor, John Chedid, said. Activating the river foreshore has been a high priority for Cr Chedid, who has worked with council and key stakeholders to consider ways of using the site. Council is keen to ensure that any future development along the foreshore provides the right mix of commercial, retail, community and recreational space and is accessible through an effective, integrated transport network.
