Silverwater. Goodbye to corner stores

Australia’s largest grocery wholesaler, Metcash, headquartered at Silverwater, has warned that the days of the traditional corner store are numbered as consumers flock to major supermarket chains, in search of $1 a litre milk and discounted groceries, and “modern” convenience store formats such as 7-Eleven, according to The Australian Financial Review.
