Parramatta. City hosts Wanderers
The Football Federation Australia (FFA) has decided to base its new A-League franchise, the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC, in Parramatta. Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Lorraine Wearne, said Parramatta Stadium was a logical choice for the Wanderers FC to play their home matches, considering the city’s existing transport, social and sporting infrastructure. “Council has recognised the value of hosting this new A-league franchise and the great benefits it will provide in further stimulating our economy, attracting visitors to the City and offering a pathway to develop young players in Western Sydney,” she said.
