Fairfield. Objection to business park

Fairfield City Council has lodged with the Department of Panning and Infrastructure an objection to the proposed Horsley Drive Business Park, which reads, in part: “[Council] does not support the establishment of any stand alone commercial (offices, retail) uses in the business park aimed at servicing the surrounding residential areas and/or industrial workforce. Any proposed offices should be associated with an industrial headquarters or be ancillary to industrial development within the business park.” Council said it objected to the establishment of general office and retail uses because it had the potential to undermine the viability of the existing town centres in the city.
