Heritage Office merger

The Heritage Office, based in Parramatta, is to be folded into the Department of Planning in a move critics fear could seriously undermine protection of heritage buildings and sites in NSW, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. The Heritage Office, which supports the Heritage Council, also based in Parramatta, will continue to function as a statutory body advising the Minister for Planning, Frank Sartor.
