Rouse Hill. Restoration to go ahead

Restoration works to the first floor of the main homestead building at the historic Bella Vista Farm Park will commence following the announcement of a successful tender by Caliber Construction Pty Ltd. Hills Shire Mayor Greg Burnett, said council has been carefully restoring the homestead for several years, in keeping with its national heritage significance.

Harris Park. Heritage building for sale

The circa 1886 heritage-listed building, in Allen Street, Harris Park, and utilised as the Australian International Performing Arts High School, is for sale. The land area is 3883 square metres and zoned Residential 2c.

Heritage Office merger

The Heritage Office, based in Parramatta, is to be folded into the Department of Planning in a move critics fear could seriously undermine protection of heritage buildings and sites in NSW, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. The Heritage Office, which supports the Heritage Council, also based in Parramatta, will continue to function as a statutory body advising the Minister for Planning, Frank Sartor.
