Region. Women EXPOse themselves

The Sydney Women’s Network plans to hold three EXPOs in Western Sydney for small and medium sized businesses, and new enterprises. The events will be held in Parramatta, at the Workers Function Centre, on June 24, Castle Hill, at the Castle Grand Community Centre, on August 19, and at Penrith, at the Penrith RSL, on September 9

Parramatta. $14 million DA lodged

Order Architects Pty Limited has lodged a DA with council for the demolition of existing structures and construction of a part 7-and part 13-storey mixed use development, containing 94 residential units and ground floor retail, over four levels of basement car parking for 186 vehicles, on the Blockbuster Video site, 459 Church Street. The estimated cost of development: $14 million.

Blacktown. Site sold for $1.9 million

A single-storey 467-square-metre showroom, on a 1018-square-metre site, in Blacktown, tenanted by Dulux, has been sold for $1.975 million, on a yield of 6.8 per cent.

Blacktown. EOIs for Blacktown Olympic Park

Blacktown Venue Management Pty Ltd (BVM) seeks expressions of interest from promoters or events organisers to develop a major program including sport and other events, at the 40-hectare Blacktown Olympic Park, which is undergoing a $30 million upgrade. BVM is also calling for EOIs for a strategic marketing and advertising consultant assisting with the development of the park’s branding and advertising concepts.

Penrith. Over 65s set to double

The number of people aged 65 and over is expected to double within the Penrith local government area, by 2021, representing a growth rate faster than the NSW average. Council is instigating a consultation process for the development of a Planning for an Ageing Community strategy to prepare for the impact of population ageing in the LGA.
