Civic Place decision expected in June

The Court of Appeal’s judgement is expected in June on Parramatta City Council’s appeal against a ruling by the Land and Environment Court over council’s compulsory acquisition powers over properties, in Darcy Street, for its $1.4 billion Civic Place redevelopment. The two-day hearing was heard on Thursday and Friday of last week.

Eastern Creek's potential for Formula One events

The Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) has commissioned British-based Apex Circuit Design Ltd, a company responsible for major motor sports developments in the Middle East, to carry out a $350,000 feasibility study of the Eastern Creek International Raceway complex as a potential Formula One circuit. The contract for the race, at Albert Park, in Victoria, is due to expire in 2010. The study is expected to be completed in the second half of 2008. The ARDC holds a long-term lease on the 90-hectare complex from the NSW State Government.

Schofields Aerodrome for sale

The Department of Defence has placed the Schofields Aerodrome site on the market. The aerodrome, of approximatly148 hectares, is some 35 kilometres, in the north-west sector. It is zoned 5(a) Commonwealth uses and 5(a) education uses. Tenders close on June 26.
