Rouse Hill. Destination not outpost

The $470 million retail and community development, the Rouse Hill Town Centre, which opened last March, was not just creating jobs but is turning Rouse Hill into a destination instead of an outpost. “It’s making this the hub of the north-west,” said Con Koulendianos, principal, of Ray White Rouse Hill.

Parramatta. Few sales in the inner ring

Real estate agent, John McGrath, said in his Market Report for Winter 2009, there have been relatively few mortgagee sales conducted in Sydney’s inner ring, which included Parramatta. “However,” he said, “I expect that there will be an increase in the number of these sales as unemployment bites over the next six months.”

Parramatta. Tender for West Metro

The NSW Government has called for tenders from environmental and planning consultancies to undertake an environemtal assessment on the proposed West Metro rail project from Central Station to Westmead. The Federal Government has allocated $91 million for detailed design work on the high-speed rail project project.

Region. EOI called for hotels

The fully-licensed Town Tavern, adjoining Westpoint Shopping Centre, at Blacktown, is on the market. Leased to 2017 with 3x5-year options, the sale includes hotelier’s licence plus 16 poker machine entitlements. Expressions of interest have also been called for the leashold of the Jolly Frog Hotel, at Windsor, which has 15 poker machine entitlements..

Wetherill Park. Enrico's Kitchen on the market

The administrator of Cumberland Industries Limited, in Auburn, is seeking offers for the purchase of the business and or assets of Enrico’s Kitchen, in Wetherill Park. The business produces ready-to-eat fresh, frozen and pasta-based Italian meals. It has a national distribution through Woolworths, Coles, Safeways and Bi Lo, as well as some 5000 school canteens. Enrico’s Kitchen, which commenced operations in 1988, is Cumberland Industries’ flagship business, with annual sales are in excess of $8 million. Cumberland Industries had an annual turnover of $25 million in 2007/2008. The administrator is Peter J Hedge, of Hedge and Associates.

Rosehill. Report on STC merger soon

The Sydney Turf Club and the Australian Jockey Club expect to learn, next week, of the report commissioned by The Minister for Racing and Gaming, Kevin Greens, as to a possible amalgamation of the two clubs. Ernst & Young has made a presentation to the board of Racing NSW. The report is expected to be released on Tuesday, June 23.
