Sydney Olympic Park. German fund buys building

German fund manager, Real I.S., has agreed to buy the first building at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s office campus for $104.5 million, from the listed Commonwealth Property Office Fund and the wholesale Direct Property Investment Fund. The building forms part of the 57,000-square-metre business campus, in Dawn Fraser Avenue, being developed by the funds for the bank, according to The Australian Financial Review.

Parramatta. City hosts Country Week

The annual Country Week Expo, which will be held at the Rosehill Racecourse Events Centre, from August 8-10, will include 60 promotional stands with representatives from councils, government services and regional businesses to encourage people to invest or relocate business to regional areas. The Department of State and Regional Development is a major sponsor of this event, which will also feature seminars on careers, starting a business and growing a home-based business in regional NSW.

Parramatta. DA for 13-storey hotel exhibited

A development application is on public exhibition until August 6 for a project at 356 Church Street (on the corner of Church and Palmer streets) in the CBD for 13-storey hotel. The application includes the demolition of the existing heritage-listed church hall, restoration of the heritage-listed church for use as a restaurant and bar, construction of a 50-room hotel, with conference facilities, roof top gym and pool and basement parking for 54 vehicles.

Pitt Town. Government approves final plans

The NSW Government has approved final plans for the growth of Pitt Town in the Hawkesbury would over time create 659 allotments, including 390 residential lots and 269 rural housing lots, and was expected to generate 1500 local jobs. The plans include $11.2 million for shoulder works to Pitt Town Road, $2 million for the dedication of land for expansion of Pitt Town Public School, $1.7 million towards the Pitt Town Road Intersection Works, $976,000 monetary contribution to school building and $630,000 to the Department of Conservation to acquire conservation lands. A new boat ramp with 16 car parking spaces and 14 car/trailer parking spaces will be built adjacent to the Hawkesbury River.

Parramatta. Property owners lodge appeal

The controversial $1.4 million Civic Place redevelopment project is still in limbo following the lodgement of an application by property owners seeking leave to appeal against a decision, by the NSW Court of Appeal, allowing Parramatta City Council to compulsory acquire properties in Darcy Street. “It will mean further delays to breathe new life into an under-utilised area in the heart of Parramatta and create an urban centre which is economically, cultural and social vibrant,” Lord Mayor, Paul Barber, told The Parramatta Sun.

Condell Park. Good Impressions buys property

Pitt Street Securities has sold a 3478-square-metre building sold with vacant possession, at 4-8 Harley Crescent, in Condell Park, for $4 million, to commercial printer, Good Impressions Offset Printers, which has premises at 34 Harley Crescent.
