The federal government has appointed consultants to study the economic, environmental and social aspects of an airport at Wilton. While the government has ruled out the RAAF base, at Richmond, as a second airport the study would examine its use for limited civil operations The studies will cost about $1.5 million.

Hoyts Blacktown will be the first cinema in Australia, and the third in the world the latest in digital film projection technology which features the use of Christie Duo technology - two digital projectors to deliver the brightest, pixel-perfect image on a 28.1 metre wide screen. The onscreen image was four times the resolution of a full high-definition TV.

Liverpool. Visit by Chinese delegation

Liverpool City Council’s Economic Development branch in conjunction with TAFE NSW – South Western Sydney Institute hosted a visit by a 30-member Chinese delegation from Henan Province’s Vocational Education and Higher Education sectors. Sal Husain, council’s economic development manager presented a comprehensive economic picture of the national, state and local economies and the high investment potential to be found in Liverpool.. Mr Husain also spoke of the opportunity for business people to do business in China.
