Rydalmere. Appeal refused

The Land and Environment Court has refused the appeal by V A Mally for alterations and additions to the ground floor of the existing industrial premises for use as a licensed Hotel and associated signage, at 229 Victoria Road, Rydalmere. Approval was sought for the internal layout of the unit including provision of a bar area, outdoor beer garden, bathrooms and kitchen. Approval is also sought to operate Monday to Saturday 11am to 11pm and Sunday 11am to 10pm.

Westmead. New primary school

Parramatta City Council has approved the demolition, tree removal, refurbishment as well as alterations and additions to Catherine McAuley and Parramatta Marist high schools, at 2 Darcy Street, Westmead, and for the construction of a new primary school for 420 students and construction of a 50-place out-of-school hours centre. The total number of students on the site will be approximately 2420. Estimated cost of development: $11.8 million.

Region. Cashless ticket vending machines

Blacktown, Eastwood, Macquarie University, Parramatta and Penrith stations are included in the rollout of new cashless ticket vending machines to help to reduce queuing, especially during peak hour. New EFTPOS-only touch screen ticket machines are being installed over six weeks after a successful trial at Town Hall station earlier this year. Customers can use their MasterCard, Visa or debit card with a PIN to purchase tickets.
