Economic development projects - update
Key highlights of projects in the economic development strategy which were implemented in the September quarter, as reported by council:
* The completion and release of the spring/summer edition of BizFacts
* the successful two-day Sustainability Expo held at Riverside as part of NSW Small Business September; it attracted over 150 to the screening of "The inconveniet truth" and up to 30 delegates for each of the five workshops
* supporting the very successful Parramatta Chamber of Commerce Business Expo
* a contribution of $20,000 to the launch of the Community Hubs project
* the launch of the Industry Partnerships Fund and the awarding of a total of $36,000 to project submissions from the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and the Office of Western Sydney. An initial $60,000 was put into this fund and so the uncommitted remainder of $24,000 is returned back to the Special Economic Development Reserve.
