Parramatta. Campaign in the top three

Parramatta City Council’s, Parramatta CBD – Take Another Look, campaign was judged as being among the top three marketing strategies, in Australia, at the 2008 Economic Development Awards. From a total of 18 applicants in the category of Economic Development Marketing Award, council’s strategy was among the best to demonstrate a measurable increase in economic activity through effective marketing. “I am extremely proud of my team for their award-winning efforts in continuing to put Parramatta CBD on the map. Our vision is to build Parramatta City into a world-class city and hold it up as a beacon of what is possible in economic development for Western Sydney," Parramatta Lord Mayor, Tony Issa, said

Parramatta. Proposal to double seating space

The Bavarian Hospitality Group Pty Ltd has applied to Parramatta City Council to increase the seating capacity of its restaurant, the Bavarian Bier Café, in the former St Andrews Uniting Church, on the corner of Phillip and Marsden streets, in the CBD, from 180 to 260. The company seeks to change of use of mezzanine storage area within the heritage-listed building.

Hoxton Park. Airport for sale

Expressions of interest have been called for the sale of the 58.94-hectare Hoxton Park Airport. Two parcels of land are available separately or combined: 40.83 hectares industrial, 18.11 hectares residential. The property has an extensive frontage to the M7 Motorway and adjacent access ramps. Airport operations cease in December.
