Penrith. Three food outlets fined

Penrith City Council has successfully prosecuted the three outlets in the local court for a total of 12 hygiene-related offences. Top One Restaurant, French Hot Bread Shop and the Colyton Bakery, Colyton, all received fines of $8792 each for offences ranging from unclean premises, vermin infestation and unsafe storage of foods. "Councils have issued 451 penalty notices since website publication began, with Penrith City Council and the City of Sydney Council leading with 72 and 51 respectively,” said Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald A further seven penalty notices for food businesses in the council area appear on the name and shame list, including the Domino’s Pizza shop, in St Marys, fined $1980 for three breaches.

Camden. AGL ups interest in Sydney Gas

Cashed-up AGL Energy Ltd has increased its stake in its takeover target Sydney Gas Ltd coal seam gas producer (CSG), at Camden, for the third time. Earlier, Sydney Gas agreed to AGL's all-cash $171 million off-market takeover bid. AGL, Australia's largest energy retailer, last month acquired CSG interests from Molopo Australia and AJ Lucas Group. Sydney Gas contributes something less than 4 per cent of NSW’s gas requirements. AGL has paid AJ Lucas and Milopo Australia $370 million for its reserves in the Gloucester Basin, in the Hunter Valley.
