Parramatta. New managing director

The Minister for Finance and Services, Greg Pearce, has announced that Kevin Young has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Sydney Water, based in Parramatta, replacing Dr Kerry Schott, who requested that her contract not be extended after serving in the position for five years. Mr Young is currently the MD, of the Hunter Water Corporation and chair of Water Services Association of Australia. He takes up the position on 1 August 1.

North Ryde. First phase launched

Macquarie University launched the first phase of a university-wide reporting and analytics program, Datamart,.which, by Yellowfin's Business Intelligence (BI) solution, delivers self-service data analysis to the university academic and business decision-makers anywhere, anytime, on any device. “Macquarie has a strategic goal - to be one of the top 200 universities in world rankings by 2014, and to be one of the top eight research universities in Australia," said Macquarie’s chief information officer, Marc Bailey. "To get there, we need to understand how we're performing. To achieve that, we need great data. Actually we have the data, but we weren't able to surface it. Now Datamart, with Yellowfin technology underpinning it, provides us capability to expose that data and leverage it."

Prospect. Property sold

Kwak & M Pty Ltd has sold a 2670-square-metre office warehouse, at 36 Stoddart Road, Prospect, to Language Recordings, for an undisclosed price. About 1100 square metres of the site is leased to a plumbing supply business and a kitchen manufacturer.
