Region. WSROC congratulates Rees

WSROC president, Tony Hay, has congratulated Premier Nathan Rees and his ministry on their appointments and urged the Government to continue its program of investment in new infrastructure for Western Sydney as a way of stimulating the region’s economy and to support future sustainable economic growth. He was pleased that Western Sydney had retained significant representation within the new ministry.

Parramatta. Applications for training premises

An application by the Apex Institute of Education has been approved for the use of the ground floor of the existing premises, at 2 Sorrell Street, Parramatta, as an educational establishment for 163 students. Trinity Funds Management Limited has lodged an application for the internal fitout and change of use to a private training college, 16 Wentworth Street, Parramatta. V K Global Pty Ltd has lodged an application for internal fitout for educational purposes to include three classrooms, one practical room, includes kitchen, staff room, student room and an administration office. The proposed development is located at 25/103 George Street, Parramatta. Grand Academy Pty Ltd, has lodged an application for the fitout and change of use of an existing commercial building, at 1C Grand Avenue, Camellia, for the purposes of an educational facility.

Bankstown. Shopping centre fails to sell

The Centro Properties Group has withdrawn its $300 million Centro Bankstown shopping centre from the market after it failed to attract a decent bid. The Centro MCS 28 syndicate owns 50 per cent of the centre with Centro Australia Wholesale Fund owning the remainder, according to The Australian Financial Review.

Parramatta. Council congratulates Nathan Rees

Lord Mayor, Paul Barber, in congratulating Nathan Rees on his election as Premier, said Mr Rees, as the MP for Toongabbie, had actively promoted important concerns raised by council, including the development of the $1.4 billion Civic Place project, the future of the Parramatta RiverCat and the Old King’s School site.
