Funds for UWS capital works

The University of Western Sydney will receive $15.9 million from the federal Budget’s announcement to inject $500 million in infrastructure funding into the higher education sector. UWS will use the funds for capital works, such as new buildings, teaching and learning facilities, laboratories and equipment.

Overseas contracts boost turnover

Pavement Management Services, at Seven Hills, expects to double turnover to about $10 million in the 2008 financial year based on contracts won in the Middle East, which would soon account for 70 per cent of total revenue. The offers a consultancy service in field data collection, engineering analysis and modelling, design specification, construction quality assurance and safety audits. The company was named most outstanding small to medium-sized enterprise in the global excellence category of the 2008 Western Sydney Industry Awards.
