Brian Newman has left SOPA

Brian Newman resigned as CEO, of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority on December 7, after six years at the helm. Nick Hubble, GM, commercial and corporate, will act as CEO until a replacement has been appointed. Mr Newman guided Sydney Olympic Park through the transition phase from being the site of the 200o Olympic Games into a thriving event and commercial precinct, with major residential and educational development to come. Michael Knight, SOPA chairman, said the role of CEO was changing as a result of the large increase in the number of residents, the rapidly increasing workforce and the expanding number of sporting and cultural events. Applications for the position of CEO close on December 21.
