Parramatta. Tenders for real estate panel

Parramatta City Council is seeking to establish a panel of real estate consultants who would be able to provide real estate services to the council. Tenders close on 10am on June 5.

North Ryde. New president of Indian body

Subba Rao Varigonda has been elected as the incoming president for the Council of Indian Australians Inc, at the Macquarie Centre, North Ryde, which is the umbrella body of Indian Australians in NSW.

Parramatta. Chamber to develop policy

Stephanie Dale, president, of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, said the organisation would develop a policy on the “hot topic … of the approaching ban on smoking in restaurants and cafes in their outside areas”. The chamber would consult its members regarding a policy “assist with reasoned discussions on the matter and act as an honest broker to achieve the best outcome”, she said.

Parramatta. Input on Auto Alley project

The Sydney Metropolitan Development Authority, in partnership with Parramatta City Council and Holroyd City Council, is seeking landowner and community input into the preparation of an Urban Renewal Study for the Auto Alley Precinct, on Church Street, south of the Parramatta City Centre. The study will investigate possible future redevelopment for this project. A community information session will be held on May 26, at the Parramatta City Council Chambers building, between 10am and 2pm.

Siklverwater. Data centres to boost economy

Data centres will be built in Silverwater, in Western Sydney and Unanderra, in the the Illawarra to consolidate the NSW government data storage. The Minister for Finance and Services, Greg Pearce, said the centres would provide a much needed boost to the Western Sydney and Illawarra economies. The centres expect to be operational by the end of 2013.

North West. Submissions closing soon

Minister for Transport, Gladys Berejiklian, said the community had until May 21 to have their have their say on the first environmental impact statement (EIS) for the North West Rail Link. Ms Berejiklian said more than 500 people attended five public information sessions across the North West for the first EIS. Latest figures reveal more than 3100 people have been to the North West Rail Link’s Community Information Centre, at Castle Hill, since it opened last July. “We’re moving full steam ahead with a total of 15 major tenders and 25 contracts awarded for a wide variety of works on the North West Rail Link,” Ms Berejiklian said
