Aussie paint keeps Olympic buildings cooler
Paint maker Insulating Technology Pty Ltd (Insultec), at Moorebank, is another Australian firm associated with the 2008 Olympic Games, in China, with is product applied to buildings in the Olympic Village. The company is cashing in on China’s construction boom and also the country’s declared determination to increase energy efficiency.
Insultec’s insulating paint reflects the sun’s rays and when applied to the outside of buildings can make the inside 10-20 per cent cooler. The company estimated that sales in China would grow tenfold in the next five years.
