Pemulwuy. Site sold for $5.86 million

Meow Investments Pty Ltd has sold at auction a residential development site, in Stockland’s Lakewood Estate Development, at Pemulwuy, to a private investor for $5.86 million. Jones Lang LaSalle’s Jeff Moxham and Leslie Cheng facilitated the sale.

Parramatta. $101 million arrangement

Leighton Properties and Grosvenor Australia have completed a $101 million construction facility arrangement, with Westpac Bank, to fund the development of the 25,000-square-metre, 19-level Eclipse Tower office building, under construction on the corner of Station and Hassall streets, opposite the Commercial Hotel..

Region. More Borders stores to close

Borders bookshops in Macarthur, Macquarie, Parramatta are among 16 stores around Australia adding to the one Borders and 48 Angus & Robertson’s stores already shut in the aftermath of parent company’s REDgroup’s collapse. The closures are expected to happen over the next eight weeks. The Borders store at Rouse Hill has already closed.

North West. Rail link strategy

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell said fast-tracking the 23-kilometre North West rail link was a priority when unveiling the NSW Government’s strategy to speed up planning and construction A project team has already been established to accelerate work and a new community information centre will be established soon, he said. Mr O’Farrell said the exact route of the link would be known by year-end. The Property Council of Australia has welcomed the government’s commitment to fast-track delivery of the link.

Parramatta. Six million through the gates

More than six million people have passed through the gates of Parramatta Stadium, since in opened 25 years ago, in March 1986. The stadium, built by Civil and Civic, is managed for the NSW State Government by the Parramatta Stadium Trust, within the Department of Communities NSW, and is self-sustaining in regard to operational and minor works funding. The trust has recently approved a master plan that on completion will establish a 30,000-seat boutique stadium, The master plan can be staged, and an estimated cost of the completion of the plan is $98 million, with the first stage of developing the east and west grandstands having an estimated cost of approximately $34 million.
