Parramatta. $5.5 million contribution

Sydney Water is contributing $5.5 million to a $16 million, five-year international research project to help customers by reducing the number of water main breaks. Sydney Water is collaborating with universities and other industry leaders to investigate when and why water pipes burst. The project is the largest international research collaboration led by Australia on buried water pipes.

Lidcombe. On the market

A development consent allows for conversion into a major shopping centre of 33,119 square metres, with parking for 980 vehicles. Parramatta. 700-car commuter carpark

Parramatta City Council will seek redevelopment proposals for the Macquarie Carpark site, in Macquarie Street, in the Parramatta CBD, including the provision of a new 700-car commuter carpark “ This will allow the future redevelopment of council’s central city carpark sites, unlocking new opportunities to grow Parramatta’s CBB and more jobs to Parramatta,” said council’s CEO, Dr Robert Lang
