Moorebank. Terminal on exhibition

A DA for the privately-owned SIMTA Moorebank Intermodal Terminal is on public exhibition. The applications is for the development of former defence land to be developed in three stages, comprising the following components: a) a rail link connecting the site to the Southern Sydney Freight Line; b) an intermodal terminal with a capacity to handle up to 1 million twenty foot equivalent units (TEUs) per annum; c) warehousing and distribution facilities comprising approximately 300,000 square metres of warehouses and distribution facilities; and d) a freight village of approximately 8000 square metres of support services such as site management, security offices, driver facilities, and convenience, retail and business services. The value of the estimated capital investment is $490 million.

PPitt Town. House and land packages

The location of the TV series, Country Practice, at Pitt Town is being subdivided for land and house packages. The project, Vermont Living, will consist of about 1000 lots set on the Hawkesbury River. Already 130 homes have been built

Sydney Olympic Park. Launch of SADIG

NSW Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Stoner, said NSW had a strong story to tell in terms of the defence and aerospace industries, at the launch of the Sydney Aerospace & Defence Interest Group (SADIG), at Sydney Olympic Park. “ SADIG will play an important role in not only supporting the collaboration of individual companies and organisations, but also in promoting the strengths and capabilities that reside in Sydney [in these industries].”

Mr Stoner said the NSW government would continue to target major projects [such as Quickstep’s relocation from Perth to Bankstown] and sustainment opportunities; create longer-term opportunities by developing defence capability in areas aligned to both the state’s industrial strengths and future opportunities; and seek to translate the investment, skills and technology gained from defence projects into wider commercial opportunities.
