Region. Hearings on project

The NSW Government has established a Planning Assessment Commission to review the application for the Bulli Seam Operations Project, located in the Campbelltown, Wollondilly and Wollongong local government areas. The terms of reference include impacts on significant natural features, built infrastructure and the values of Sydney’s drinking water catchment. Public hearings will be held on February 17, at Appin House, 150 Appin Road, Appin, at 9.00am.

Region. Pubs sold at a discount

The debt-stricken pub property trust, Redcape, formerly Hedley Leisure and Gaming, has sold two properties in Western Sydney, in the past three months, for less than cost price. The Cabramatta Club Hotel sold for $21.5 million, 22 per cent below its cost price, and the Mount Druitt Cedars Tavern sold for $12 million, $1.4 million less than cost price. The pubs were part of a portfolio of six properties in NSW and Queensland sold at a 20 per cent discount to their cost price, as part of a move to reduce the trust’s debts.

North Ryde. Firm participated at expo

Burness Corlett Three Quays Australia, a naval design and architecture firm, at North Ryde, participated in the Pacific 2010 maritime exposition, at Darling Harbour, Asia Pacific's major international maritime, naval and defence related event. The NSW Government sponsored the event and hosted a stand to promote NSW industry capabilities and generate business for small to medium sized companies. The NSW Government stand was named the most outstanding exhibition promoting SMEs, by Pacific 2010 organisers.

Region. Funding assistance fro SMEs

Small to medium size businesses planning to create jobs by investing in expanding or diversifying their operations may qualify for assistance through theNSW Government's Western Sydney Business Employment Fund. The fund is designed to help businesses in manufacturing, ICT, the creative industries, transport, logistics and storage, and the development of eco-friendly technologies. Businesses owned or operated in Auburn, Bankstown, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, the Blue Mountains, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Liverpool, Parramatta, Penrith or Wollondilly can apply.
