Homebush Bay. EOI in $300 million marina

The NSW Government has called for expressions of interest (EOI) on a marina estimated to cost $300 million, on an 18-hectare site with a 900-metre access to the Parramatta River.and Homebush Bay. The successful bidder is to be announced in mid-2010 and construction to start in 2012, on one of the biggest developments of its kind in Australia. It could create 500 jobs.

Castle Hill. Gloria Jeans new outlet in China

Specialty coffee outlet group, Gloria Jean's Coffees Internationa, based at Castle Hill,l expects to open its second outlet this month in China's largest city, Shanghai. in partnership with Chinese food retail company, Dash Brands Ltd, which is also its master franchise partner for China. Dash Brands plans to open 600 Gloria Jean's stores across China under within the next 15 years..

Auburn. Two weeks to find a backer

The Federal Department of Community Services has given the administrator of Cumberland Industries Limited, Hedge and Associates, until August 14, to find a financial backer for the organisation, which employs 540 people with disabilities and 170 support staff, in seven divisions across Western Sydney.

Region. Industrial market picks up

After 12 to 18 months of inactivity, the industrial leasing market in Western Sydney is showing signs of renewed strength, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. More than 2 million square metres of potential supply is under development across Sydney, with more than half of the projects approved. Most potential new supply is in Western Sydney, with the outer west representing that largest portion of more than 900,000 square metres in about 105 projects, says LandMark White’s latest report.
