Norwest. University in business park

University of Notre Dame Australia has beaten other universities to become involved in the development of a new graduate business school in the Norwest Business Park ”My community, and particularly those businesses seeking to establish themselves in the thriving north-west, will now have an opportunity to study under the guidance of one of the world's great universities. One of the keys to the north-west's continued development is the provision of tertiary education. In an Australian first, such a business school will be placed right in the middle of a thriving business park,” said MP for Baulkham Hills, David Elliott, in the NSW Parliament

Penrith. CBD needs change

Penrith business and property owners believe the CBD needs change now and they want a revised city centre strategy to drive cohesive investment and development. Those commenting on a review of the city centre's strategies said High Street and its surrounds looked tired and uninviting to shoppers. The carve-up of High Street, from a thoroughfare to a mall and back again, had fragmented business and left shoppers with no reason to visit the CBD other than to pass through on their way somewhere else, many said.

Region. Thousands of students graduating

Thousands of students are donning caps and gowns this week as part of the University of Western Sydney's 2012 Autumn Graduation. From Monday 16 April to Friday 20 April, more than 3000 graduands will receive degrees in a wide range of disciplines including business, psychology, law, social and health sciences, engineering, humanities, education and nursing.

Sydney Olympic Park. Hosting of events

Sydney Olympic Park, Moore Park, the Australian Technology Park at Eveleigh and various Sydney hotels will play an expanded role in hosting events during the construction period if the $1 billion upgrade of the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour. The complex will be closed for three years from late 2013 to late 2016 while the works are carried out.
