Penrith. New CEO for TVS

Rachel Bentley, UWS media lecturer and associate head of the school of communication arts, has been appointed the new CEO of TVS, a not for profit community television channel broadcasting from the university’s Penrith campus. Ms Bentley brings more than 25 years of media production experience to help shape the exciting new direction for the station. She was head of training for the Sydney Olympic Broadcasting Organisation and is executive producer of the TVS programs, Histrionics, and the award winning Dare I Ask?, which was jointly produced by Metro Screen. Former CEO, Laurie Patton, announced in April he would step down as CEO. Harold Mitchell, head of Mitchell Communication Group, is the new chairman of TVS. Mr Mitchell has been a non-executive director on the board of TVS. Geoffrey Roberson, of Champion Legal, in Parramatta, was the former chairman.

Holroyd. WesTrac in the money

Perth-based WesTrac, which has its main NSW office in Holroyd, has reported sales were $23 million higher than forecast at $1.6 billion. WesTrac has the licence in WA, NSW and the ACT for Caterpillar earth moving equipment.

Ropes Crossing. $7.6 million for new works

Delfin Lend Lease will spend $7.6 million over the next quarter on new works at Ropes Crossing, at St Marys, to complement the existing facilities which includes a Coles supermarket and specialty stores. Ropes Crossing is a 1545-hectare development which will include up to 5000 homes within three suburbs. Ropes Crossing’s new project director is Lorriane Sarayeldin, replacing Natalie Jones, who has been promoted to a national role within Deflin Lend Lease.

Parramatta. Civic Place plan to DOP

Parramatta City Council has reported in its June quarterly report that it had facilitated the preparation of Grocon’s concept plan for the $1.6 billion Civic Place redevelopment project, before its submission to the Department of Planning for approval.
