Parramatta. DA for $220 million tower

Crown International Holdings expects to lodge, in December,.a DA with Parramatta City Council, for a $220 million residential and mixed-use project on the corners of Macquarie, Marsden and Hunter streets, in the western corridor of the CBD. Crown purchased the site from Becton Property Group, in July, for about $15 million. A current DA approval exists for a mixed-use building up to 20 storeys. Crown has a $125 million building of two17-storey towers, with 264 apartments, including 12 penthouses, in Cowper Street, Parramatta. Crown has projects worth more than $225 million under construction at Newington and Rhodes.

Prestons. Aldi's new $145 million facility

German supermarket chain, Aldi, has opened a $145 million, 50,000-square-metre warehouse and distribution centre, in Prestons, to support the addition of another 80 Aldi stores to the current network of 85 stores in NSW. The new centre currently services 31 stores, but this figure is expected to grow to 52 stores by December 2010. It is one of the largest Aldi facilities in the world.

Parramatta. Consultation on $225m project

Parramatta City Council has approved a public consultation plan for the proposed residential and mixed-use development, of a partially completed industrial/warehouse development at 2 Morton Street, Parramatta. The project by Frasers Property Development has the potential for 580-640 dwellings, overlooking the Parramatta River. The construction value is approximately $225 million.
