Parramatta. Entrepreneurs' school growing

The School for Social Entrepreneurs, which is dedicated to identifying, supporting and developing the skills of individuals interested in social entrepreneurship, is growing and is currently recruiting for an operations officer/executive assistant to work either part or full-time from its Parramatta office.

Parramatta. Tourism website online soon

Parramatta City Council’s new website, www.discoverparramatta.com will be launched this month to boost tourism numbers and the sector’s economic contribution. The website will be the one-stop portal for up-to-date information on events, activities, places of interest, accommodation options and the dining venues. The gross revenue generated by businesses and organisations in Parramatta to service demand generated by tourists to the area is estimated at $830 million, with the city’s hospitality sector contributing $138 million. Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, said more people were visiting Parramatta than ever before.

Parramatta. Only one in the west

Greg Duncan, executive director, of Trivett Classic, believes car dealerships would be increasingly concentrated in several hubs, including Church Street, Parramatta, the only one in Western Sydney. Marques in the Trivett group include BMW, Land Rover, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Harley-Davidson motorbikes

Oran Park. Raceway closes for development

The Oran Park Raceway will cease operations on Tuesday to make way for 5550 new homes. Oran Park Town is the first stage of development in the South West Growth Corridor, with the potential to house up to 35,000 people over a 20 year development horizon. The town centre will become the geographical centre of the Camden local government area and its growing population.

Parramatta. CBD leases

AJ Hair has leased a 45-square-metre shop, at 140 Church Street, from a private investor, for five years, at $1100 a square metre gross. The Cash Store has leased a 108-square-metre shop, at 254 Church Street, from 247 Church Street Pty Ltd, for five years, at $510 a square metre gross. Ray White Commercial, Parramatta, did both deals.
