Region. Foundation group acquires Cumberland

The Queensland based Endeavour Foundation has become the largest non-government provider of services to people with a disability with the acquisition of Cumberland Industries, in Auburn. Endeavour’s proposal was the offer recommended by Cumberland’s administrator, Peter Hedge, and was formally accepted by meeting of Cumberland Industries’ creditors. The acquisition has the approval of the Federal Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. Cumberland’s commercial operations at Castle Hill, Seven Hills and Mount Druitt trade as the Filpac, Clean-Pac, Pak-It-Rite and Sew-It-Rite services. Endeavour said they had enough capacity to ensure positions for all 580 supported employees as well as for many of the support staff.
