Parramatta. Independents on cross benches

The declaration of local government elections for Parramatta shows that the ALP and the Liberal Party will each have six of the 15 places on next four-year council term, with independents holding three positions. Council will meet on Monday, September 29 when the election of the lord mayor and deputy lord mayor will take place. ALP councillors: Paul Barber, Julia Finn, Glenn Elmore (new), Pierre Esber, Mark Lack (new), Prabir Maitra (new). Liberal: Andrew Bide (new), John Chedid, Tony Issa, Chiang Xavier Lim, Scott Lloyd (new), Andrew Wilson. Independent: Paul Garrard, Michael McDermott (new), Lorraine Wearne.
