Region. Worst retail conditions

Collins Foods, which operates 122 KFC restaurants and 27 Sizzler restaurants in Australia – with a total of some 40 outlets in Western Sydney – has described retail conditions as the worst it had yet experienced, which has contributed to a major slump in its share price since listing on the Australian Securities Exchange in August 2011.

Parramatta. DA approved for gym

Aust & NZ International Investment Group Pty Ltd has had a DA approved for tree removal and alterations/additions including the construction of a gym and deck. Approval is also sought to use the deck as a café, to the Clarion on the Park hotel, in Anderson Street in the CBD.

Region. Document a sound step

Future transport projects needed to underpin Sydney’s growth patterns are the cornerstone of the NSW Government’s draft transport masterplan. The Property Council of Australia’s NSW executive director, Glenn Byres, said the document’s release was a sound step in aligning land use and transport planning. “The plan recognises the crucial role of Sydney’s CBD as a global city and promotes solutions that can foster its status as our economic jewel in the crown. But it also reaches across the broader metropolitan city and offers linkages between economic hubs, centres and emerging new communities,” he said.

Fairfield. Manufacturer streamlines

Furniture manufacturer and retailer, Fantastic Holdings, has streamlined its warehouse process and optimised its supply chain performance across the company’s operations. The company has implemented Manhattan SCALE product suite at its main 360,000 square foot purpose built distribution centre, at Fairfield, its 330,000 square foot facility in Clayton, Victoria, as well as its newer 60,000 square foot distribution centre in Perth.”As Australia’s largest vertically integrated furniture retailer, with over 125 stores across five brands, we recognised that investing in an end-to-end supply chain solution would be critical to our ongoing success,” said chief operating officer supply chain, Craig Holland.
