Bankstown. Economic impact of airport

An economic impact study shows Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown is vital to the Greater Western Sydney economy, delivering over $700 million in economic activity each year. The airport generates jobs and demand for extra goods and services to businesses both on and off the airport, resulting in annual flow-on effects of $1.3 billion to the local and wider Western Sydney economy. “We consider the results cement Sydney Metro Airport Bankstown as one of Australia’s significant aerospace hubs and business centres,” said CEO, Kim Ellis.

Eastern Creek. Summernats a possibility

The highly popular Street Machine Summernats Car Festival, for customised and modified street machines and held annually in Canberra, may move to Eastern Creek. Festival promoter, Chic Henry, said the idea of selling Summernats to officials at the Western Sydney International Dragway was only in the discussion phase. He said he would look at the move in more detail when this year’s 3-4 day event, in January, was over.
