Penrith. Panthers $850 million proposal

Panthers proposes an $850 million development which includes outlet centres, general retail, campus style office premises, serviced apartments and high density residential dwellings on a 50-hectare site.. During construction and delivery, the proposed development would generate some 5000 jobs with 2100 jobs post construction “The scale and nature of this development recognises and reinforces Penrith’s role as a regional city,” Penrith City Council said. The proposal will be discussed at tonight’s (March 19) policy review committee, with the recommendation the proposal be presented council’s ordinary meeting on March 26.

Parramatta. King's School site

Parramatta City Council will refer to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure a proposal to allow a redistribution of the allowable floor space ratio and height limits on the former King's School site. A portion of land on the north-east corner of the site has been identified for purchase by the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta for the future development of education and community uses in conjunction the church’s adjoining facilities.

Sydney Olympic Park. Green star rating

The $60 million 5 Murray Rose development, nearing completion as the first stage of GPT’s $200 million Murray Rose Business Park, has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star Rating — Office Design v2 certified rating. Developed to world’s leading practice, the building features a solar installation that will contribute to 25 per cent of the base-building peak load, making it the largest solar installation in an Australian commercial building of this scale.

Parramatta. Restaurant closes, one opens

The Meat and Wine restaurant on the corner of Church and Market streets has closed. The Brisbane-based Coffee Club Group will open a Ribs and Rumps outlet on the site. The Coffee Club bought the Ribs and Roast chain, based at Macquarie Park, from the Meat and Wine Co in September last year.
