Harris Park. Heritage building for sale

The circa 1886 heritage-listed building, in Allen Street, Harris Park, and utilised as the Australian International Performing Arts High School, is for sale. The land area is 3883 square metres and zoned Residential 2c.

Region. UWS seeks dean

The University of Western Sydney has advertised for a Dean of Medicine, in its School of Medicine. UWS Clinical Schools and teaching hospitals are established at Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Bankstown-Lidcombe, Campbelltown and Camden, as well as Bathurst and Lismore. The school’s first cohort of students graduates in 2011.

Region. Masters stores bigger than Bunnings

A rugby oval and carpark belonging to the St Marys Leagues Club has been earmarked as the site for an outlet for a Masters hardware store. Others in the pipeline, in Western Sydney, are at Narellan, Hoxton Park and Warwick Farm. The Masters stores, tipped to cost up to $23 million each, will be 40 per cent bigger than the average Bunnings stores. Masters is a partnership between Woolworths and US hardware giant, Lowe’s.

Region. No funds for infrastructure

Councils on Sydney fringes say they are not releasing land for disparately needed housing because they don’t have the money for crucial infrastructure. They blame the former NSW Labor government for capping the amount they can charge developers to provide facilities and services at $30,000 per new housing lot and for failing to provide alternative funding arrangements, according to The Australian Financial Review.
