Region. 'Super six' list

Transport for NSW has identified a “super six” list of congested transport corridors through Sydney, in a draft tranpsort plan to be released today. These are Sydney Airport to the central business district (CBD), Rouse Hill to Macquarie Park, Liverpool to Sydney Airport, Parramatta to the CBD via Strathfield, Mona Vale to the CBD.

Region. Over development of fringes

Infrastructure NSW chairman, Nick Greiner, has warned against the over development of Sydney’s urban fringes. “It’s obviously better, easier, more value for money to have development in areas where there is existing basic infrastructure in place. The answer cannot be just ever, ever, ever, expanding the geographic boundaries of the city,” he told a Committee for Sydney meeting.

Smeaton Grange. $8.4 million plant

NSW Premier and Minister for Western Sydney, Barry O’Farrell, has officially opened the new, $8.4 million A2 Milk processing facility in Smeaton Grange which will directly create 25 new jobs. Mr O’Farrell said the partly Australian owned company was expanding its processing facilities to meet growing demand. Previously, A2 Milk was processed in Queensland.
