Parramatta City Council said the city’s reputation as an events-led city continues to grow as the city recently hosted an international arboriculture conference and tree climbing championships presented by International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). This was the first time the event had been held in the southern hemisphere, “The event saw more than 600 delegates attended the conference, representing more than 24 countries from five continents, and reminds us that events like these not only attract hundreds of visitors from across Sydney and beyond, but also provide a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our spectacular city and help boost Parramatta’s economic and commercial growth,” said Lord Mayor, John Chedid. Council’s modelling suggested the event added at least $738,000 to the local economy.
