Penrith. John Deere leases space

Farm suppliers company, John Deere Tractors, will pay a gross face rent of $93 per square metre after signing a three-year lease, with a similar option, for 1260 square metres of industrial space, in Penrith. Instant Hire was the previous tenant. Colliers negotiated the deal.

Rydalmere. Dexus buys property

The Dexus Wholesale Property Fund has acquired an industrial portfolio for $231 million from the Colonial Direct Property Investment Fund. The portfolio, made up of 13 properties, includes the Cumberland Green industrial park, in South Street, Rydalmere.

Seven Hills. EOI in waste company

PricewaterhouseCoopers has called for expressions of interest for the sale of the business and assets, of Galloway Environmental Waste Management, at Seven Hills. The business operates in the recovery of dry commercial waste, including cardboard, paper, all plastics, cans, aluminium and glass with the capacity for 30,000 tonnes annually.

Rouse Hill. Town centre one of top five

The Rouse Hill town centre has been named as one of the five best new developments in the world in the Urban Land Institute's 2010 global awards for excellence. The centre was developed by the GPT Group and Lend Lease, and includes 220 retailers, 104 apartments, 2800 square metres of office space, 10 restaurants and a cinema. The masterplan was prepared by Civitas Urban Design and Planning with the Department of Planning and Landcom. Three architectural firms handled design - Allen Jack+Cottier, Group GSA and Rice Daubney. The centre has won the Lloyd Rees Award for Urban Design, from the Australian Institute of Architects, and two awards from the Property Council of Australia.

Parramatta. Property sold for $2.39 million

A local private investor has purchased a property on the corner of Church and Phillip streets, in the Parramatta CBD, for $2.39 million. The property comprises a two-level commercial building with, Liana’s, a fully licensed Italian restaurant, The sale of the 335-square-metre building, with a distinctive green dome, on a site area of 250 square metres, was coordinated by Chris Tesoriero, of Knight Frank Parramatta, on behalf of receiver Neil Cussen, of Deloitte

Penrith. MBA-type course FOC

The Penrith City and District Business Advisory Centre will offer a Master of Business Administration-type program free of charge early next year. Funding for the course has been provided through the Penrith Business Alliance's business growth training grants program. Advisory centre executive officer, John Todd, said the program was aimed at businesses with at least five employees and potential for growth.
