$290 million wish list

Parramatta Lord Mayor, Paul Barber, estimates that $291 million is needed for infrastructure works. He was speaking after NSW Planning Minister, Frank Sartor, has recommended that Section 94 contributions – money paid by developers to councils for infrastructure works – should be funnelled into government coffers instead. Council is reported to have $24.3 million from these contributions. Councillors engaged in a lengthy and vigorous debate on the issue at a council meeting.
